The family have owned and operated a total of nine hotels both in Sweden and internationally since the 1930’s. With over 90 years of experience and passion for creating memorable hotel experiences, the family has become one of the leading actors in Sweden’s tourism and hospitality industry. In the 1960’s, the family founded the iconic Hotel Diplomat on the beautiful Strandvägen. In 2021, Villa Dagmar opened its doors on the vibrant Nybrogatan. The latest addition to the family, Villa Dahlia, opened its doors in the autumn of 2024 and invites guests to a curated home where history is visible in every detail.

Diplomat Collection owned by Hotel Diplomat AB and its co-owners, Anna Cappelen, Sune Malmström, Lovisa Malmström with sons, and Linda Malmström Grassman. Anna Cappelen and Sune M Malmström work together in the operations of the hotel business. The company’s CEO is Lars Sandberg and the chairman is Fredrik Cappelen. Pauline Cappelen, representing the fifth generation, is also active in the company.

Villa Dagmar has been honored with National Geographic’s Traveler Hotel Awards 2021 and has been named one of the 101 best hotels in the world by Tatler Traveler Guide 2023.
